A range of rebates is available for visits to a
Physiotherapist.
Private Health Fund rebates
Most private health funds will cover physiotherapy treatment
up to a certain annual limit, if your membership package
includes allied health services.
Medicare rebates
You may be eligible for a rebate for up to five
treatments through Medicare, Australia's publicly funded
health care system.
Medicare rebates for physiotherapy patients are
available under the Enhanced Primary Care Program
(EPC) if you have a chronic health condition -
defined as those present or likely to be present for
six months or more - and complex care needs.
Complex care needs are determined by your GP who will
provide you with a referral.
